Crave

My body beckons to you and rejects you within the same day. It craves you with a fierce power that hasn’t faded, but it’s missing something upon delivery. I guess some things you can’t quite ask for. If I revealed those things, said them out loud, it would lessen the potency when received. My body keeps screaming my needs…but I’m not sure you can hear them. The way I need to be desired, wanted, and lusted after. I need you to look at me with eyes that are hungry and pleading to undress me. I long for your fingers to grip me with a sense of trembling certainty that you won’t let go until we’re both satisfied. If I told you that though, would it invalidate the authenticity of the draw?
I am dying for a craving so deep that you want to kiss every inch of my body solely because you have spent endless hours thinking about what I taste like. I want to do the same, for you to miss my lips when they're not softly brushing against your skin, tracing the outline of you with warm breath and a soothing staccato of my tonuge. An elevated experience in our minds that tease the sense, one that leaves me shuddering and wrapped in chills at the recollection of our exchange. I am longing for a desire that is so lit within you that your body aches to just graze my skin, where I gush at the brush of a touch with you. Every interaction is like electricity amplified because nothing is promised.
Is this want expected to last forever or do I realistically know that it will fade? Even if met, will the reoccurring glances that induce breathlessness dissipate into the ether of evaporated desires? Perhaps it will happen again, but only if there's no way to spark the desire all over again, to return to the land of exploration, to reinvent the longing. If it's allowed to fade without reaching for it, the way we once yearned to reach for one another.
Are we there yet? Are we in a place where you no longer reach for me in the way that inspires poems and novels? Has the crave cycle vanished... or are we reinventing it all right now?
